What started as a cluster of clear circles with black dots emerged to about 1000 tadpoles. This is our 2nd batch as the first one didn't make it due in large part to caretaker ignorance. The rain has helped keep this batch going!
(note: don't use the hose to 'change' the water when it is dirty!)
This is a younger tadpole. He is one of about 10 left and they vary in development. He is probably around 6 wks old.
This little guy is a few weeks older, so his body is wider but he has no legs yet.
Of the 10/1000 survivors, there is ONE with legs. His body is noticeably meatier, his tail is thicker and it has a clear film around it. Not like the distinct black, thin tail the younger ones develop.
Before long, we hope to see him hopping away to safety. This is Misty's drinking pool after all....
