You know that scene when the Von Trapp family is sneaking away from their residence in the hope of escaping the new position 'offered' to Captain Von Trapp? Herr Zeller catches them clearly in traveling clothes and it takes some convincing for him to believe enough of their story to let them go. This was after the Anschluss. The parents explain how they are going to sing in the Festival and they were wearing their costumes, they show HZ the program for the Festival and how their names are written therein...Herr Zeller goes in to a bit of a fit telling them they WILL sing in the festival, but only because it is the way HE wants it to be.
One cannot help what comes to one's mind in times such as this.
