Nothing Like Motherhood

You know, there are things far more important than a huge wardrobe of clothes bought new. There are things vastly more meaningful than beautiful cars which are meant to impress. There are things infinitely more impressive than 'going along with the crowd' (be it playing the business game and doing what the bosses do or living like the world). There is something to be said for old-fashioned, Christian values. A woman committed to her family rather than her career. Yes, a stay-at-home mom who puts children and morals above anything else. A woman who dotes on her husband, showing her children God's order for the home, is a precious site in the eyes of the Lord.

All manner of excuses can be made, but at the end of the day we all have choices and those choices and priorities are reflected in how we live. I'm convinced Liberal Womanhood is ultimately empty and leaves a woman dissatisfied. I think most men who adhere to liberal feminist ideologies are also less satisfied than their male counterparts who embrace true femininity. I don't say this to be mean-spirited, friends, but the strong messages from the opposite side are at times scathing and we need to be bold about the truth. Liberalism has been a continual lie toward better living for women, from birth control to women no longer submitting to their husbands.

There is simply no way to be fully present in the home while being fully present out of the home. Some women can't stand to be at home so they are away from it, and in that circumstance they may feel happier, but there is surely a part of them that nags at their insides because something in them knows where they belong.

Moms, especially those who are home schooling--cherish these days where you can surprise your child with a closet full of clean laundry. Bask in the thrill of making home-made muffins for them to awake to. Relish the healthy and creative dinners you set before them at the end of a day wrought with school, basket decorating, shopping, church and training. Take pride in making your house a home, not only for your husband, but for your children. You won't be disappointed living according to the Bible. God has a plan and a design for the family, and it is not the mom working and the dad at home raising children. Men and women are created differently, and there is an order that is biblical when there are two parents in the family.
