Using God's Name

I was really blessed to learn our youth pastor, in teaching on the 3rd commandment, discussed that it is inappropriate to say, "Oh my g_sh!" So many Christians think this subtle change from fully taking God's name in vain is OK, but that expression makes many people think of the 'real deal' and it is akin to saying, "Shoot!" often. The saying came out of people taking God's name in vain and when one is saying it, it's very similar to just fully using His name wrongly. I know a lot of Christians disagree with this thinking, but how about this? As Christian home schoolers, shouldn't we be teaching our children to use language that is scholarly? Do we really want our kids saying stupid, idiot and jerk? How about crass terms to describe passing gas? I suppose to some I sound like a snob, but truly, our language in this society has really been lowered since the nation's founding. How we speak is a reflection of what is in our hearts, and if we're thinking on an erudite level, it stands to reason we ought to SOUND like it.
