Being still takes time. It doesn't occur in seconds or minutes. It requires something of us. It needs a decision on our part to put off things so we can put on other things. 

How can you be still when there are always stimulants coursing through your veins? Or rockish music pouring into your ears? Or a phone with images continuously being scrolled?

When do we make sure to have long stretches of time with nothing artificially stimulating us or distracting us? Do we ever calm down inside and externally?
