Need Encouragement? Looking for Hope?

https://www.fbcwheeling.org/sermons

The sermon from Sept 22nd, The Field of Grace, is fantastic. Pastor Darrin clearly put a tremendous amount of time in to preparing this message, and I think you'll find it to be very encouraging on many levels.

Allergic to Amidoamine (Stearic Acid), Methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCl/MI) and Fragrance Mix?

It may seem a random mix of chemicals to be allergic to, but if you are allergic to Amidoamine (Stearic Acid), Methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCl/MI) and Fragrance Mix, here are some products that should work for you. I was surprised that the majority of 'natural' products contain a preservative that more than a couple people are allergic to. I was also surprised that trying to avoid fragrance takes more than cursory effort. I'm not clear on 'natural fragrances' and if they are OK...

**Please note--just because a brand is on here does not mean their other products are safe for those with the allergens listed. Seventh Generation products do not meet the criteria--only their liquid unscented hand soap, which is listed. Feel free to leave comments about other products you've found that would work within these parameters.

  1. Planet Ultra Dishwashing Liquid
  2. Planet Dishwashing Pacs

KY Homeschooling Mom's Rights Violated Big Time, Please Read

HSLDA
Holly Curry is fighting for justice.
You Can Help Holly Curry Get Justice for Herself and Her Six Kids

Our efforts to vindicate Kentucky homeschool mom Holly Curry have kicked into high gear. The CPS investigator HSLDA sued on Holly's behalf has asked the federal court to say that strip-searching kids during a non-emergency investigation is not a violation of her constitutional rights.

The investigator's motion is a big hurdle in what could be a long march to the United States Supreme Court.

This is a critical moment.

Holly has a chance to secure an important victory, but she needs your prayers and generous support today.

HOLLY'S NIGHTMARE BEGAN DURING A ROUTINE BUSY-MOM OUTING . . .

On her way to karate practice on a cool Kentucky morning, Holly stopped at Cobbler's Café to buy muffins. All six of her kids were safely buckled into the car seats of her well-maintained 10-passenger van. Rather than drag all six kids into the café, Holly decided to leave them in the van in front of the café for no more than 10 minutes.

The car was locked, and the air was on. Holly felt especially safe in this part of town because of how close the café is to the courthouse complex. Police are always in the vicinity. And that morning, Holly believed that the police were her ally against anyone who would want to harm or threaten her children.

We need your help to protect this family's rights.

THAT'S WHEN HOLLY'S MORNING TURNED UPSIDE DOWN.

Upon leaving the café, Holly returned to her van where she was met by two uniformed law enforcement officers. They did not suggest that Holly had broken any laws and they knew that no harm had come to Holly's children.

But the officers asked Holly for the names and dates of birth of her children, informing her that she was not being arrested, but that they would be notifying the Kentucky Department for Community Based Services, Division of Protection and Permanency—employing the same type of form that is used for suspected child abuse and domestic abuse.

(Holly had done nothing wrong, and her children were never at risk. But in today's changing world, we don't advise leaving young kids in a car by themselves.)

BUT THIS WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING.

The next day, Holly was visited by an investigative social worker who demanded to enter her home (without identifying herself or providing credentials).

When she discovered that the social worker did not have a warrant, Holly invoked her constitutional rights and refused to let the social worker inside. A short while later, the social worker returned with a sheriff's deputy—but still no warrant.

Holly reiterated that she was not comfortable allowing them to enter the home without a warrant, especially while her husband was still out of town. The deputy and social worker demanded that she let them in, threatening to obtain an order to remove all six children from the home if she did not let them in without a warrant.

Only when the officials repeated their aggressive and intimidating threats did Holly acquiesce to letting them enter her home, fearful that they would otherwise take her kids—two of whom were infants—away from her.

Once inside, the investigator not only privately interviewed Holly's oldest daughter but then proceeded to strip-search all six children (including her daughters) in front of the male police officer.

Thankfully, after finding no signs of neglect, the investigation was closed. However, because of the injustice done to the Curry family, HSLDA has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit on behalf of Holly and her children.

Holly and her family have bravely decided to stand up to this government intimidation and abuse of power. But it hasn't been easy. HSLDA is proud to stand with this family, and we believe that you would want the opportunity to partner with them as well. Your prayers and donations make it possible for us to fight for justice for the Curry family.

WHY IS HOLLY'S STORY SO HEARTBREAKING?

It's because the government responded irrationally at every turn. The commonplace circumstances surrounding this investigation should have been met with a just and reasonable response.

If Kentucky officials are going to threaten to remove Holly's children for a snack break on the way to karate class, then any family going about their normal lives is at risk of being violated by the very people sworn to protect their rights and safety.

The particulars of Holly's case should secure her victory, yet this is not a foregone conclusion. The Division of Protection and Permanency has asked the judge to dismiss our lawsuit and legitimize the invasive actions of the investigator and deputy.

As a result, we intend to put every effort into getting justice for Holly and her family. This is not only an important fight for them—but for every loving family. There are real situations where government intervention is needed to protect children from harm.

Sadly, in the case of the Curry family, the government officials were the source of harm—not the solution.

Will you stand with Holly and help us change the way CPS investigations are conducted?

You can go to HSLDA's page and DONATE NOW to help Holly fight back. Where has reason and sanity gone in this country????

This is truly a watershed moment for Stafford County Schools, and its going to come down to ONE vote.

Please make plans or encourage others to attend the Stafford School Board meeting this coming Tuesday,

September 10 at 7:00 P.M. The Board will be voting on whether to adopt two policies that will effectively eviscerate the concept of biological sex, while significantly undermining the safety, security, dignity, and liberty of every Stafford County student and school employee.

These extreme proposals change the nondiscrimination policies for students and staff by adding special protections for 'sexual orientation' and 'gender identity' ("SOGI"). You can read the policies for yourself at the links below:

Proposed New Policy 2420 (Student Services: Nondiscrimination, Equal Education Opportunity)
Proposed Revisions to Policy 4107 (Human Resources Services: Nondiscrimination, Equal Employment Opportunity, Anti-Retaliation)

Some of the negative consequences of these policies include:

Permitting any student or school employee to use any bathroom, locker room, or shower they desired, as long as they claim to 'identify' as that particular sex;

Allowing for a student that claims to identify as a particular sex to receive overnight lodging accommodations for school-sponsored trips, including athletic trips, that are in accordance with the students sex that he or she claims to identify as; and

Compel speech by requiring students and teachers to use pronouns inconsistent with a persons biological sex.

In an earlier email, we informed you that the Board originally planned to vote on these policies at its July 16 meeting, but decided to postpone the vote in order to further understand their legal and practical implications.

It's our understanding that the LGBTQ crowd is heavily mobilizing its supporters to try to pressure the School Board which we fear is tilting 4-3 in favor of the policies. If you haven't done already, please take a moment to email the Stafford School Board members at school_board_members@lists.staffordschools.net to express your opposition to these misguided policies.

We also invite you to please join us on Tuesday, September 10 at the Stafford School Board Meeting to speak out against these egregious policy changes, and to invite others to do the same.

What: Stafford County Public Schools Board Meeting
Topic: Nondiscrimination and Equal Educational Opportunity Policies
When: Tuesday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. (Arrive earlier for seating)
Where: School Board Chambers, 31 Stafford Avenue Stafford, VA 22554

You don't need to sign up until the night of the meeting to get a speaking spot.

We hope to see you there!

Needs vs. Neediness

It can be easy to mistakenly confuse the way we think life should be with what the RIGHT way should be.

For example, social people who find great joy in being with others may be at risk for spiritualizing their own personalities to be one that aligns better with what they focus on in Scripture as the most important aspects of life and ministry.

This tendency can lead extroverts to wrongly thinking their way of 'doing life' is more holy, better, preferred, in short: RIGHT.

They tell introverts, or those who are secure enough to not have to have other people live their lives right alongside them, their way of living is not as good, not ideal, not as Christ-like or holy. In short, they tell them it is wrong.

What this reveals is sadly a reality in our extroverted culture, which is, that introverts are not valued for what they bring to the table. What they bring is seldom considered beyond a quick glance. Instead the extrovert spends greater time looking at how their way is superior, and they psychoanalyze their incorrectly perceived faults of introverts.

Language plays greatly into this. Notice how I worded the description of introverts to cast extroverts as insecure? I could have also characterized introverts as people who do not form deep relationships with people outside their immediate family, or people who find greater peace by being alone rather than in a group.

My point is this, there is a bit of insecurity and neediness, that if left unchecked, can rule an extrovert's life. They can develop a persona that is simply never satisfied. The amount of social interaction is never enough, and it can cloud their ability to see their introverted brothers and sisters rightly.

Just as men and women are different, and cultures in warm climates differ from colder climates, introverts and extroverts (and the spectrum that exists) are unique from one another, and they both bring something different and needed to our culture. In reading Ephesians 2:11-22 I am reminded that it is the sinful nature of mankind to set up divisions among ourselves, but in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek. We should not cultivate what makes us different and set it is a divider, but rather understand we are all unique and equipped by God to use the gifts He's given differently. The personality He has given each of us will then utilize those gifts differently. It is important we all serve the Lord how we believe is right and stop pushing people different from us to be just like us in how we serve and where we serve.

A fool does not delight in understanding, But only in revealing his own mind.
